A thought-provoking Christmas story that comes with beautiful illustrations. Years ago, when Auggie realized Paul was a published author, he had asked Paul to take a look at his photographs.
It’s short, real short, but the illustrations make you slow down and let it all sink in. Auggie and the writer develop a friendship from this meeting, and they intimately share their love of photography and art and life. Oh well, I’ll manage. I was killing time at the library today and this little book captured my attention so I grabbed it and read it while wrsn for my bus. At 36 pages half of which are illustrations it’s a perfect read for those of you with busy lives.

Not a normal standard of Christmas stories,but well worth the read. I couldn’t be sure, but the look in his eyes at that moment was so mysterious, so fraught with the glow of some inner delight, that it suddenly occurred to me that he had made the whole thing up.

Auster starts with the dilemma of navldad to come with a different Christmas story, but he doesn’t want to resort to the typical tales we’re used to for that time of the year.
